Bay windows can look even more beautiful with curtains or drapes. Window treatments can block out or filter light give you privacy or simply add decoration to the room. Measuring your bay window for mitered or corner curtain rods is not complicated. You just need a measuring tape and a pencil. First mark on your walls with pencil where you want the draper rods to end. Assuming you have a three part bay window measure from the spot you marked on the left side to the first corner. Then measure from the first corner to the second corner. Next measure from the second corner to where you marked on the right side.
These measurements are your wall measurements. Next take another measuring tape or string and lay it on the floor between your two pencil marks. Measure the length of this line. Lastly you will measure from each corner to this line. This will allow the calculation of the angles of your wall and therefore your total rod. If you have more than two corners you can continue measuring the sections as described above. You will have multiple measurements and more sections of rods. When marking the spots of where you want the rods to end be sure and keep finials in mind. If you would like decorative finials at the end of your rods you will need to confirm that you have enough room to add those finials. A custom corner rod manufacturer can take the wall measurements to fabricate your rods.
A thick fabric curtain is normally hung on that type. The problem here is that if we want to let some light to pass through during the day we need to open the curtain and move it on the outer sides. However the amount of light that is coming in is more than enough to what we really want. We dont have any choice since we are using such type of curtain rod. I have seen also some houses that hang two curtains in a single curtain rod but I dont find it attractive. In order to address such issues double curtain rods have been made. By using double curtain rods you can hang sheer curtain and thick fabric curtain at the same time. The sheer curtain is normally placed in the inner rod while the main curtain is placed in the outer rod. If you want some light to pass through during the day you have there the sheer curtain. If you want some privacy during at night or even during the day you have there your thick fabric curtain which also adds up to the beauty of your window area. This looks rich and elegant.
It is very easy to install a magnetic curtain rod. You could choose a single or double rod and these may be had in any of three finishes brass white or off white. When you say yes to a magnetic curtain rod its the easiest thing to install or remove when you want a change of drapes or you need to launder them. Goodbye to screws bolts and arduous drilling. Magnetic rods are so sturdily built and have such powerful magnets to hold the brackets in place that they can bear the weight of the heaviest of drapes even canvas ones. They are adjustable and come in a range of sizes and cost upwards of $20.
