Charles Walker is a native of North Carolina and has been painting since the late 1980’s. He has been painting in his signature style since 1995-6. His abstract paintings are not only bright and vibrant, but richly textural. Walker has said that he feel like he sculpts with paint – a colored clay. “The artist Giorgio Morandi spent the greater part of his artistic life painting a series of 15-20 bottles. The first few times he painted the bottles, he was just painting bottles. But after 20 years, he wasn’t painting bottles anymore, he was onto something else. This ‘something else’ is primarily what my work is about.”

Walker has lived in places as disparate as New York City, Los Angeles, Italy, and Athens, Georgia. He has come full circle and has settled into quiet family life in a bungalow home in his native Winston-Salem, NC where he paints every day.
