Max Rodriguez was born in Havana, Cuba, and was exiled with his family to New Orleans at the age of seven. He began his study of Fine Arts at the University of New Orleans, later transferring to San Francisco to attend the Academy of Art College for Graphic Design. He currently lives in Palm Springs, California. "The message behind my art takes on a social and political responsibility for me to preserve our volatile yet beautiful planet. By taking a universal landscape and deconstructing it showing the ravages of erosion and deterioration, my images represent a "preserved nature" -- evoking the beauty, melancholy and wonder about the past, the present and the future of our world."
