Drawn to the arts since a young child, Lorraine began her creative journey as a stage performer. Ultimately, she believes her theatrical background enabled her to evolve into the artist she is today. Lorraine's diverse artistic style represents a blend of her expertise in fine art, graphic design, photography and the written word. Her artwork spans everything from colorful, figurative and abstract whimsical works to provocative mixed media art that incorporates her original photography, vintage jewelry and introspective thoughts. In 1984, she co-founded d'lor, inc., a graphic design/PR firm in Orlando, earning recognition for her ability to integrate fine art into commercial applications. She loved blurring the boundaries between fine/commercial art, frequently incorporating photography, painting and drawing into client projects. Her most recent accomplishment included her role as the primary building artist for NuRiver Landing, a 409-unit, $200M, 25-story, luxury, riverfront condo located in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Additional career highlights include a 1999 commission by visionary developer Phil Rampy, to create an extensive fine/graphic arts program for the EO Inn, an urban B&B in downtown Orlando. In 1996 Lorraine was featured as one of 12 American female artists in an exhibition at the American Chamber of Commerce in Paris. She was chosen to participate in the nationally-acclaimed "Artist in Residence" Program at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach with world-renowned painter David Salle, in 1995. |
