Living in Denver, Colorado, Karen Haynes paints.  As a child she always drew and as an adult she was always coming back to it.  After years of exploration, from school at the University of Colorado at Boulder, to family and small business, flying and the general business of living, it was waiting.  It was embraced. 

Whether an image is a still life or more landscape related, space is the subject matter.  Her paintings draw from the landscape she grew up with, that intersection of mountain, plain and open sky which has enveloped her since she was small.  The sense of meditative stillness, the push and pull of imagery, that is what she pursues.
