Theresa Handy became interested in painting when she attended the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.  There she received her BFA in painting and drawing in 1995.  Shortly after graduating she made her way a little further north to St. Paul Minnesota to pursue her professional career as an artist.  Although she has traveled extensively throughout the United States, it’s the Midwest Region that keeps calling her back.  Her strong ties to this part of the country are highly influential to her work.  Inspired by the seasons, Theresa’s mixed media paintings evoke a sense of solitude and introspection. “My work is a testimonial to the human experience and our struggle to reconcile and find balance with the world around us.”
