My name is Joel Cook, I'm a full time artist living in Orlando, Fl. I work in oils, acrylics, watercolors and charcoal. I'm attracted to much of the experimental and abstract work currently produced, and yet I find myself instinctively returning to the classics ie. 'Dutch period' landscapes, still life and portraits. I think it probably has something to do with the light. The challenge of capturing that tremulous, fleeting light is what drives me. The idea that, in that process, I might produce something appreciated by someone else is a splendid bonus!
