Megan Carling received her Master of Fine Arts in printmaking at the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2006. Carling is a Des Moines native, where she received a double bachelors degree from Drake University in sculpture and printmaking in 2001.
Megan now resides in Columbus, Wisconsin, nestled closely to the bustling and trendy city of Madison, Wisconsin. She lives and works in her home studio, with her husband and pack of 5 canine art assistants.
Carling has exhibited her work extensively throughout the country, in many juried competitions as well as numerous group and solo shows.
Carling’s work holds many layers of content incorporating the decorative and ornamental. It is foremost concerned with aspects of consumerism in today’s changing material culture. Using both unconventional and traditional print media, Carling creates work that is visually complex and stunning.
