I was exposed to the visual arts from an early age, as my mother was a painter/ commercial artist and my father a weekend photographer. I grew up with paint tubes, slide trays and canvases lying about the house; they were always there as part of my childhood landscape. My passion to create my own artwork began in adolescence. This is when I made the natural choice to make painting my primary form of communication. Born in California I was raised in Texas. I currently reside in Florida but will always consider myself a Texan. The never-ending horizon and vast skies will forever hold a place in my psyche, continuing to influence my artwork to this day. Keeping my mind open to the creative forces - that let me play and evolve to a new awareness of self - I’m always motivated to stir not only my imagination but the viewers as well.
